Helen Kent, originally from Sheffield, began her career at an early age appearing in a Variety show at the Mermaid Theatre, London at 12 years old. She also won a Champion Child of the year Award presented by Princess Diana. At 16 she was placed 2nd in the Miss Dance of Great Britain finals and went on to train at Performers College in Essex. Since graduating she has had a very varied career working for P&O cruises, Qdos, Ian Dickens, PMA & Rainbow Theatre Productions, Film 4, E4, Sky & the BBC. She has played roles in the musicals Mamma Mia, Cabaret & Catherine in Germany and most recently Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Catford. Her career has taken her all over the world, but now based in London again, she is continuing her training and has since played the “Mother” in the short film Where Fairyland Begins.
