Jazz Musician Gail Brand for Low Down Alley Blues
White Space Films has got a lot on at the moment. The Drama Sessions are being edited, a huge task that our Editor, Joanna Lewandowska has taken on courageously and on which she’s doing a great job. We’re filming a short at the end of this month and are heavily into pre-production with that. We’re also in pre-production with a documentary details about which will soon be forthcoming and which we aim to start shooting in August. Lift Stories is slated for an end of September shoot. Another short film is in the middle of being tailored to Tim Jobe, one of our company members. There’s animation, a possible second documentary, a projected feature film and so on and so forth.
One of our projects, Low Down Alley Blues, is presently being edited by Nayantara Kotian. And with regard to this I’m delighted to be able to announce that Gail Brand, a very successful and highly regarded jazz musician who also teaches at Guildhall, is allowing us to use the music from her forthcoming album for it.
Time Out described Gail as: “..one of the most passionate and dynamic musicians alive.”
Uncut Magazine called her: “…a musician of great purpose and power”
Jazz Weekly said of her that she is: “..one of the most impressive brass soloists of her generation “
We’re incredibly fortunate that Gail has agreed to be involved with WSF on this project. You can find out more about her here: http://www.gailbrand.com/welcome.htm
